In celebration for the premiere of the sixth season of Smallville, wonderful people of Livejournal have put together Project Smallville: The Countdown. It is a week long celebration, with different activities going on around Livejournal including pic!spams of each season, the characters and actors of Smallville along with other cool events.

Erica Durance (Lois Lane):

I was honored to be asked to be apart of the celebration and even more excited when asked to do something for the talented Erica Durance who portrays Lois Lane of Smallville. I did not know much about Erica Durance before Smallville, except for one guest appearance on Stargate SG-1. As soon as Lois Lane was introduced into Smallville in "Crusade" of the fourth season, I was immediately excited with the concept of Lois Lane during this time of Clark Kent's life. What made this even more special and amazing was how Erica Durance molded Lois Lane into her own creation, yet kept the essence of who Lois Lane is. Erica has a fresh take on the role of Lois and has hooked fans across the globe - including myself, "You have to treat it like a fresh character. Sure, there are guidelines so that you don't upset people, but you have to find your own way," Erica Durance quote - and she did find her own way, with the character of Lois and into the hearts of the fans.

So, today, the first of the pic!spams for Erica Durance, I share with you some personal pictures of Erica, along with others. Enjoy.

"It was a whirlwind. I got the call I had it on a Friday night and began filming Monday morning. I was scheduled to go in Saturday and do some photo shoots. And then on Sunday, Tom was nice enough to read some scenes with me so I wasn't so stressed out. And then on Monday, I was thrown in there." - Erica Durance on getting the role of Lois Lane

Wheee!! Oh, I love those photos of Erica at Wizard Con!! She looks so shiny and happy, and how cute is she with her husband?!

Thank you so much for doing this sweetie--it's fantastic! I've just included it in my Day 4 round-up so hopefully people will head on over soon (depending on timezones of course!).

And how great are those new promo shots?! Wow! She looks brilliant and I love how Daily-Planet-y they are. Though I don't know any spoilers, I have a really good feeling about this season for Lois--the CW seem to have been pimping her big time. I hope this means exciting plot developments!

Erica Durance is Lois Lane and I will back her performance until my dying day. She is a beautiful and talented actress who just ignites the town of Smallville and shows what true chemistry is with Tom Welling. I cannot wait to see what Season 6 has in store for Miss Lane- I know she will be fabulous in it.

Oh, that interview is incredibly adorable! (Since I last posted I went out and bought a Macbook, so now I can view it without my computer collapsing--wheee!!!)

And she's awesome! I love that she liked Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth! I think that's one of the best performances of an actress in the last ten years--I love that Erica's obviously got so much admiration for other actors. And Pride and Prejudice, LoTR and Underworld! She's so cute!

Heh! Yes, totally! I have seen several hints from Erica that she's all about female strength. She's not aggressive about it, but it seems like something she's really drawn to/interested in. *g*

I really like that she is drawn to those type of roles, whether it's entertainment or her acting. Erica does have a lot of admiration for other actors, I agree, which is another reason why I *really* love her, I think she's very down to earth and isn't all caught up in the fame like some actors get.. :)

Aww. Erica is always so pretty and smiley and I for one love Lois. I think she's entertaining and a great addition to the show. I've liked Erica Durance a lot since seeing her on SG1 back in the day and I was so happy when she turned up on Smallville.

My favourite Erica moment, can't choose, but I love the bit in the "Spell" commentary, during the Clark-is-nekkid-chained-to-a-post scene, when Jason (Jensen Ackles) is the one who finds him in all his, ahem, glory, and gets him down from the post in a moment of typically Smallvillesque intense homoeroticism, and Erica is dying of laughter in the commentary saying, "This is my favourite part in the whole episode! JENSEN! Look at Jensen's face!" (^_^)v

That interview is great! And omg, I have so much love for Erica Durance. It helps that I adore the character Lois Lane no matter in what medium, but also Erica's talented and beautiful and funny, and wow. And I have geeky glee that she loves LotR and P&P!

Oh, and my favorite Erica/Lois episodes are definitely "Krypto" because of the snark between her and Clark (rhymes!), and "Exposed", because of her dancing and again interaction with Clark. Does it make me a bad Clex fan that I think Clois is terribly cute?

I'm with you, I do love Lois on any medium. :) But Erica defintely brings a fresh feel to the character for me and she's one of my favorite portrayels. :)

Not a huge Lois fan, but there are things about her that I do really like and hope they continue to develop with her, particularly her friendship with Lana. I find it so refreshing and wonderful that they don't try to make them enemies or go the catfight route with them. I love GIRLFRIENDS.

However, I DO think ED is charming and beautiful. I met her at WizardWorld Chicago and I can honestly say that I think the make-up people on SV don't do her justice. She is much more naturally pretty than they show sometimes.

I totally agree with you. It was the same way when I met her, very beautiful and little makeup. I do sometimes think the lighting/etc and the makeup isn't the best on the show but still very beautiful.

And agree with you on the friendship with Lana and Lois, I hope they develop that more. I am glad it's not all grr-y and such.
